Silverstar hosts a CANSA Shavathon: Shave, Spray, Donate!
Silverstar Casino, the West Rand’s favourite entertainment destination, will be hosting two CANSA Shavathons: from 09h00 to 18h00 on Friday, 6 March and 10h00 to 18h00 on Saturday, 7 March at the main hotel entrance. All Shavathon donations will go towards CANSA’s care and support programmes for patients, caregivers and loved ones.
This year’s Shavathon theme Hope 2020 is appropriate, as participants will be giving ‘Hope’ to cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones, by showing solidarity in the fight against cancer as they stencil, spray or shave their hair – or simply come and donate to a good cause without spraying or shaving! To participate, a small donation fee of R50 for adults and R25 for children under 12 is all that is needed to Spray or Shave and get in on the Shavathon action. And if you are not keen or able to spray or shave but still want to show your support, a variety of CANSA merchandise will be on sale too – we can’t think of a better cause to get behind!
CANSA provides a unique, integrated service to all people affected by cancer. This non-profit organisation enables research on the lowering of cancer risk, educating the public regarding symptoms, screening and risk reduction, and providing care and support to all people affected by cancer. Its advocacy team performs a watchdog role to oversee South African policy makers and influence important cancer control issues. They also strive to protect the patients’ right to healthcare.
